Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of therapeutic services by Lynsey Matthews (“the Therapist”) to clients (“you” / “the Client”). By booking or attending a session, you agree to these terms.
1. Services Provided

I am a registered psychotherapist with the BABCP, offering individual therapy, coaching, workshops, and consultancy.

Sessions may be delivered in-person, online, or via telephone/video conferencing.

Sessions are designed to support mental health and wellbeing but do not replace medical treatment.
2. Appointment Booking and Confirmation

Sessions must be booked in advance through [email/website/phone].

You will receive confirmation of your booking, including date, time, and session format.

It is your responsibility to ensure you have the necessary equipment and privacy for online sessions.
3. Fees and Payment

Fees for sessions will be clearly communicated at the time of booking.

Payment is due before the session by Bank Transfer (BACS / Faster Payments), Card Payments (Debit/Credit) or Online Payment Links / Portals such as PayPal.

I reserve the right to adjust fees with notice.
4. Cancellation and Rescheduling

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a full session fee.

Rescheduled sessions are subject to availability.
5. Confidentiality

All information shared during sessions is confidential.

Information may only be disclosed:

With your explicit consent.

If required by law (e.g., risk of harm to self or others).

In supervision or professional consultation, with anonymity preserved.

6. Client Responsibilities
-
Attend sessions on time and prepared to engage.

Provide accurate and relevant information to support effective therapy.

Understand that therapy outcomes depend on active participation.
7. Therapist Responsibilities

Provide a safe, supportive, and professional environment.

Maintain confidentiality and secure record-keeping.

Work within professional competence and ethical guidelines outlined by the BABCP.

To adhere to data protection regulations outlined by Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018.
8. Limitation of Liability

While therapy can provide support and personal growth, outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

The Therapist is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or unforeseen outcomes from attending therapy.
9. Termination of Therapy
-
Either party may terminate therapy at any time with appropriate notice.

Termination may be recommended if sessions are no longer beneficial or due to non-payment or breach of these Terms.
10. Governing Law
-
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales and the government of Jersey.

Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales and the government of Jersey.
