I am a qualified and accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (BSc Psychology with hons, PG.Dip High Intensity CBT, PG.Dip Low Intensity CBT, HND Applied Psychology).
I recently relocated to Jersey with my family, having grown up in Cornwall, UK, where I trained at Plymouth and Exeter University. Supporting others has always been both my passion and my purpose, and my career reflects this commitment.
From an early age, I gained experience in various supportive roles, beginning with work alongside children and adults with Autism and mental health needs—something I found deeply rewarding and insightful. Over time, I also worked with people living with Dementia in nursing homes, children in foster care, young carers, and teenagers with ADHD and Autism. In addition, I have privately fostered and raised my two neurodiverse children, which has given me valuable personal insight into the challenges faced by families.
While supporting young carers, I was offered the opportunity to train as a Low-Intensity CBT Practitioner. This role took me across Cornwall, working with teenagers and young adults experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. It also broadened my experience in areas such as trauma, gender dysphoria, LGBTQ+ support, refugee experiences, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. However, as an LI-CBT practitioner, I was limited to offering only eight sessions per client. This often felt restrictive, especially given the long CAMHS waiting lists, and left me wanting to provide more meaningful, ongoing support.
This motivated me to return to education, where I qualified as a CBT Therapist. This advanced training enabled me to offer a deeper level of care and expand the range of support I could provide.
In recent years, I have delivered private therapy online for both adults and children, with a particular focus on neurodiversity and parent coaching. Now, having settled in Jersey, I have established my own private practice and look forward to offering my skills and experience to support the residents of this beautiful island.
